A Biographical Sketch
(January, 2007)
Diane Scribner Clevenger, senior minister of Unity of
Roanoke Valley, a beautiful 26-acre inter-faith community in the Blue Ridge Mts.
of Virginia, brings her love of the divine into every aspect of her life. She has served as Vice President of the Eastern Region of the Association of Unity Churches, Chaplain for Big Brothers, Big Sisters Board of Directors and is currently the Chaplain of the Association of Unity Churches, Eastern region as well as part of 21st Century Metaphysicians for Unity worldwide. She serves on the Ministerial Advisory Board for SOFTLY Int’l. and Partners Council of Habitat for Humanity. She hosted the Blue Ridge PBS Television production of Mary Manin Morrissey’s Building Your Field of Dreams and has inspired many through her CD “Pray Attention… With Your Self.” Over these past ten years, Diane has encouraged and taken part in many aspects of her church’s mission trips in Costa Rica, Honduras, Peru and the with Interfaith Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a group that originated at Unity of Roanoke Valley, that is actively helping with relief work on the Gulf Coast after hurricane Katrina. Diane is a dedicated to being an adventurer and a voice for God, the good. Her solo 480-mile walk across northern Spain on the ancient pilgrim’s path, El Camino de Santiago a year ago in April, is a perfect segue for her upcoming sacred journey into Nepal, A Gift for The Village, with a team of seven from across the United States. In late June of 2007 they will begin producing a documentary film about the gifting of a beautiful 7’ portrait painted by the well-known artist Jane Vance of an accomplished Tibetan lama by the name of Amchi Tsampa Ngawang to a remote village in Mustang Province of northern Nepal. The painting will be received during a week-long festival honoring this loving exchange and the portrait will be placed in their Temple in Tsampa’s honor. This project team and the far-reaching, grace-filled effects of the journey have received a letter of blessing from His Holiness The Dalai Lama and so it’s with great humility and awe that Diane joins this group. She looks forward to being a part of God’s grace unfolding, every breath of the Way…
